OUR STATEMENT OF FATIH

  • We believe in the verbal, plenary inspiration of the entire Bible. The Bible constitutes the Divine rule of Christian faith and practice.
  • We believe that there is only ONE living God. There are three persons in the Godhead eternally existing as a Trinity in three distinctions- God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
  • We believe that Jesus is the only begotten Son of God, eternally existing yet born of a virgin. He is both true God and man, the Savior of the world.
  • We believe in the creation of the universe and all things by a direct act of God, apart from any so-called evolutionary process.
  • We believe that man fell into sin by his own free will and choice, as the consequence of his sin, bringing upon mankind both physical and spiritual death. Mankind is now totally depraved, incapable of personal salvation and good works before God and therefore in need of a Savior.
  • We believe that man is lost and must be born again by the Holy Spirit to enter heaven. Man is justified by faith in Christ alone and is counted righteous before God ONLY through the merit of the Lord Jesus Christ. Salvation is by grace through faith in Christ alone.
  • We believe that repentance toward God, faith in the Lord Jesus Christ alone and regeneration by the Holy Spirit is necessary to salvation.
  • We believe that all who are saved, all true believers once saved shall be kept saved forever because of the work of Trinity in security of salvation.
  • We believe that Jesus Christ founded the local church, and it consists of a group of believers baptized by immersion who have assembled together for the purpose of edification, exhortation and evangelism, as commended by Christ in His Great Commission.
  • We believe the Lord Jesus Christ established two ordinances for the Church in this present age. These are believer’s water baptism, practiced by immersion, and the Lord’s Supper, observed as a memorial to the death of Christ.​
  • We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is coming again in the air at any moment to rapture His Church and to reward its servants. The believers will have their works judged at the Judgment Seat of Christ and will spend eternity in the fullness of joy in Heaven with the Lord.
  • We believe that all Christians are called through the Great Commission to do the works of Christ here upon the earth. We have been equipped by the Holy Spirit with the full range of spiritual gifts to accomplish this task.

ABOUT OUR PASTOR AND HIS FAMILY
Brother Thomas Lian, the pastor of Bible Baptist Church, was born in Myanmar in 1984, and grown up in a Christian family. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and Lord in 1997. Ever since he got saved, he dedicated his life to be in God's ministry. He served the Lord as a Sunday School teacher and youth leader in the church. He then went to Bible School for full-time ministry preparation. He then served the Lord as a pastor and also as a lecturer at Bible Colleges. 
 
Brother Thomas has a burning heart and passion for the lost in Myanmar. In 2013,  brother Thomas Lian clearly knew that the Lord called him to go and reach the lost with the life-changing gospel message and plant churches in Myanmar. He answers God's call for his life and faithfully labors to preach the gospel in Myanmar. His desire is to preach the gospel to those who have never heard it at least once in their lifetime, to see the lost saved, and churches planted. He was married to Priscilla Kim in 2014. They are now blessed with two daughters and one son. ​​

The Beginning of Bible Baptist Church

The beginning of Bible Baptist Church in Kalaymyo, Myanmar, is a remarkable story of faith and dedication. It all started with the arrival of Thomas Lian and his wife, Priscilla Kim, a missionary couple who felt called by God to share the Gospel among non-Christian in this area. Thomas Lian and Priscilla Kim arrived in Kalaymyo in 2014 with a deep passion for reaching the non-Christians with the gospel of Christ. They were aware of the challenges they would face in a community deeply rooted in other religious traditions, but they were determined to make a difference. 

Initially, Thomas and Priscilla faced skepticism and resistance from the local non-Christian community. However, they persevered, relying on their unwavering faith and the power of the Gospel. They built relationships with non-Christians to gain their trust and they tirelessly did evangelistic outreach among them. They would visit homes, hold evangelistic meeting at their rented house, invite their non-Christian friends to their home and discuss spiritual matters. 

God bless their hard labor in evangelistic outreach and they began to win the lost. They then started to organize regular meetings and invited non-Christians to attend as well. As Thomas and Priscilla continued reaching the lost with the gospel, they won more souls and the number of believers attending worship meetings at their rented house gradually increased. Then they formally and officially establish the Bible Baptist Church in 2018. Thomas and Priscilla hold regular worship services, Bible studies, and discipleship programs to nurture the spiritual growth of new believers. They also provide practical support and assistance to those in need, further demonstrating the love and compassion of Christ.
